Body- and self-awareness are particularly beneficial, because they can help with early detection of physical problems and allow for early preventive action.
The relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga can lessen chronic pain, such as lower back pain, arthritis, headaches and carpal tunnel syndrome. Yoga can also lower blood pressure and reduce insomnia.

Sunday's restorative class
During this hour we will relax the body and challenge the mind. At the beginning we start by doing some breathing exercises (pranayama), gentle warm ups for the spine and neck, followed by gentle stretches of the same area. We will do 3-7 restorative poses that we will hold for about 5-15 minutes. Restorative poses are meant to completely relax your body, the challenge is on the mind. We already know we can multitask, show up for training, take care of our social, work and family life. How challenging is it for you to stay still on your body, to stay still on your thoughts? Take time to restore your body and your mind and you will perform better in all aspects of life.
